Christmas 2026

'tis the season

Christmas at The Market Tavern

Each year we celebrate the festive season in style here at The Tavern, and 2026 will be no different.

You can expect a roaring fire, warm welcome from our team and a fantastic food offering to enjoy with family and friends throughout December.

We are now taking bookings for Christmas parties and our traditional Christmas Day dinner.

We will publish our menus later in the year, but you can click below to see last year’s Christmas Day Menu and this year’s Provisional Party Menu (TBC) as a guide to what to expect.

Service and food was amazing! We were lucky to get the last available table for the night. Highly recommend the Sunday roast.

Liam and Savannah were excellent today during lunch. Brilliant service and the food and drinks were 5* This is absolutely the place to grab some lunch and drinks before or after your trip around the castle. We will certainly be back!

We ate here twice, Thursday and Friday last week, and popped on for a couple of pints on Saturday. The food was really nice, and the staff were lovely, friendly, and great with advice about local attractions and recommendations for a takeaway. Highly recommended and booking is probably essential particularly on a weekend. A big thank you for helping make our weekend away such a good one
